Prior to forming SimplyPut, I was a Business Unit Director within a consulting firm, where I developed communications programmes to enable corporate sales channels for clients such as BT Ignite, Ericsson, ePeopleserve and O2. Before this I worked in BT and BT Mobile within HR, Product Development and Marketing.
I have a practice-based PhD from the University of Sheffield. During this, I looked at the factors which, when applied to a large organisation or network, help with information flow, receptivity to change and engagement with that change.
As a result of my study and practice, I specialise in the development of flexible, but systemised, ways of communicating and sharing information across large organisations in any sphere; with the purpose of increasing productivity and encouraging collaborative working.
I would suggest that within any organisation there are around 10% of people who are skilled and passionate communicators, influencers and networkers. These people are the keys for engagement. I find them and help to connect them with each other in a way that spreads the word, deepens awareness of organisational needs and messages and helps with the embedding of values.
As a doctor I provide a bridge between theory and the ‘real world’. I diagnose levels of engagement, disconnects and loss of productivity in complex organisations.
I also have a proven track record in the design and delivery of training courses, large and small-scale facilitation and team building events and performance management programmes.
